The word partner is now replacing the word affiliate. Brands are looking for partners, not necessarily affiliates. Brands are looking for people who can send them valuable and quality traffic. If a brand can partner with a quality affiliate, it will be a match made in heaven! Brands are looking to grow and diversify their marketing channels.

Relevant Content…

Consumers have a problem that they are looking to solve. When you market to them, you have to have content that provides a solution for them. One of my favorite sayings about this is “one problem, one solution.” Be specific with your content. You must realize that the consumer needs to get to know, like and trust you. You need to be able to build trust with your reader. As you know, it takes time to build trust. Provide quality information that will build your credibility and your authority. Make sure that you provide information that is not outdated.

Be Niche Specific…

Keep your content specific to your niche. Do not try to provide content about more than the niche you are in. When you provide niche specific content that solves the readers problem, you build that trust that will help him come back to you again and again.

People Want A Bargain…

Consumers in the past have wanted a discount coupon for purchasing an affiliate product. This will continue as people seek discounts and are looking for reward, or loyalty programs. These will be a large factor when establishing affiliate or partner associations.

Tracking…

Another concern for affiliate marketing trends is the ability to track where the sales are coming from. Brands want to know where the sales are coming from in order to refine their marketing strategies. The ability to capture and analyse the data is extremely important to the brand, as well as to the partner.

Going Global…

Brands are looking to get their products out to more people to make more sales. The internet allows them to have a global reach. We are now able to reach markets in other countries and be very specific in what we do and how we do it. It saves money in wasted marketing to someone who is not interested in the brands products or services. The trend for international partners is on the rise and will only get bigger. More affiliates will be able to become international marketers.

Traffic…

Monitoring and being able to analyse where the traffic is coming for will be extremely important for the brand as well as the affiliate. Diversifying the traffic is of the utmost importance. Social media advertising is steadily rising in cost. You should look at Pay Per Click advertising, Native Ads, and email as other avenues. Paid traffic is the fastest way to get traffic.
